Manual Push Lawn Mowers

Why Choose A Manual Push Lawn Mower?

Manual push lawn mowers are reel mowers. Reel mowers cut grass using spinning blades passing over a fixed blade. There are electric and gas powered reel lawn mowers, but some people choose to use manual push reel mowers rather than power reel mowers. Why choose a manual push reel type mower over a gas powered or electric powered gang reel mower or a pull behind reel mower? There are many reasons homeowner choose to use manual push mowers over reel gang mowers. One big reason is lawn size. For a lawn under 1000 square feet a big clunky gas powered power or a high efficiency high powered electric reel mower is just not necessary to get a good lawn mow. It’s perfectly easy for someone who is in normal physical health to use a manual push mower on a lawn that is less than 1000 square feet in size and keep the lawn looking great. Using a manual push mower is also a great way to get some serious exercise, so people who sit at a desk all day every day during the week can put in some time working in the yard on weekends and get a great workout doing it. Using a manual push power is also less expensive than using a powered lawn mower and most people like to save money.

Where To Get A Manual Push Lawn Mower Fixed

Need to get a manual reel mower like a McLane reel mower or a used Toro reel mower repaired? Check the local yellow pages for lawn and garden care retailers in the area. Usually lawn and garden equipment dealers will have an on-site repair facility for reel mower repair and commercial reel mower repair. Just because a manual push mower doesn’t have any fancy starter mechanisms doesn’t mean it doesn’t need repairs or maintenance. The blade need to be sharpened regularly or else no matter how hard it’s pushed it won’t cut the grass. It’s a good idea to take a manual push mower in for blade sharpening and other maintenance work in early spring before the lawn starts getting out of control. Manual push reel mowers don’t cut through thick or hard-sided grass well, so if the lawn has very thick or very tough grass then the right choice might not be a manual push mower but an electric or gas power mower.
